Great little place. If you ever need/want a change from all the seafood in this village, this place is a good alternative. We tried the burgers (one vegetarian/one meat) and they were both really nice, with homemade chips and gluten-free bread available on request. The Nachos were very good as well and a pretty large portion, enough for both of us. Very friendly service as well, highly recommendable.

Truly a gem! Some of the best burgers we've had anywhere from their family farm so it is fresh, flavorful, and in a beautiful central location. They have inside seating with a/c or a patio for the cooler evenings and nightlife. We went twice despite loving Spanish tapas and paella because it was that tasty. Cannot recommend enough because you will not regret going here.

We had the best burgers not only in town (as the owner promised), but certainly way beyond San José. The meat is truly stunning (from the owners' family ranch in Galicia) and makes an impact. (For everyone who likes spicy stuff, try the spicy burger -- it's a revelation, I promise!)
And the waitress and the owner (whose husband is cooking) are a match of the great food in terms of friendliness and hospitality.

Great experience! We went to Carallo to have some lunch. Ordered two kinds of the house tacos (with pulled pork and beef), and they were both so unexpectedly good, that we ordered the lamb tacos as well. Drinks were quite good as well. Overall, the highlights are definitely the really, really tasty tacos and great service. Recommended!

Excellent burgers, friendly service, and patio dining. Our lunch really hit the spot! My wife really liked her beet-based veggie burger. We wish we had been able to go back again before our trip was over.

We watched Marta do up this premise’s in February and since we moved here in April we have been here 3 times so far and will continue to come back. The food is amazing… fresh and full of flavour. The service is second to none with Livi being the best front of house. Service is always with a smile and Martha knows her wine and beef This is a must visit if in San Jose
“It’s the best burger I’ve ever had” they all say….. yeah yeah yeah, I’ve heard that one before. And then you try it, you try the Aztacar carollo burger here, and you realise those weren’t exaggerations, those weren’t fake reviews. This is the real stuff. Thank you. That took me to another place and I did not want it to end.
Best burger I've had (tried the Azteca aka spicy burger). Everything, even the potato chips, was homemade. Good portions and fantastic service! 🙂
